- For piano & 3 cell phones (configured with irritating ring tones, preferably bad pop tunes)
- 2 audience members are cohorts; first cohort near back row; second near first row
- Begin piece; soon after, first cohort phone rings; I get annoyed, flustered
- At climax of piece, other cohort phone rings. I stop, wait for silence, then start over from the beginning
- Seconds
later, my phone rings (next to me on bench away from audience); I
answer, making small talk, "...I'm not doing much...", and walk off
stage, still talking
- After a minute or so, I return with a sign "The End" and a jar of broken cell phone parts.
- Take bow if applause
